Welcome, I am honored you are here.
“As in all my work, my desire is not to ‘solve’ anything, but to open fields of experiencing.” — Michael Eigen

Hello
I'm Chance
How do I begin?
I feel that a “beginning” has already taken place — whether you reach out to me or another clinician. By acknowledging that you need something, you have entrusted vulnerability to another. Being vulnerable can take many forms, but I believe that trust, courage, and strength are needed to begin.
“We are never so defenseless against suffering as when we love. Never so helplessly unhappy as when we have lost our loved object or its love.”— Sigmund Freud
Therapy may seem like a process that is shrouded in mystery. You may be asking yourself, “I am to trust myself to someone I don't know?” Anxiety abounds in such a place! This is natural, and we are going to of course encounter protections and anxieties. The difference – is that the intent is to handle those experiences together. Therapy, above all else, is a relationship.
“Your visions will become clear when you can look inside of your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.”— Carl Jung
When we begin, we are aiming to form a connection with one another. This connection can evoke many feelings, even the idea or possibility at connection can provoke anxiety.
There can be many contributing factors for how and why you feel this way – but the real work is not in the knowledge of the why. The real work is in finding the courage to make contact with the vulnerable place despite the fear, trusting in me (in your own time) to be with you in the feeling.
“Loneliness, is not the absence of people around us, but the inability to express what truly matters within us.”— Carl Jung
